I am very excited to finally be able to get this website up and running! Many people have been asking me for information for months, actually now for over a year. They have seen me go from a size 18 to a size 4, from 200+ pounds to 125, and of course, they want to know how I did it! The truly amazing part for me isn’t that I finally found an answer to 35+ years of struggling with weight loss (unsuccessfully up until 2006) – which I admit is pretty amazing. No, for me, the truly amazing part is how different the answer was – how contrary it was to everything I thought I knew and yet ultimately how aligned it was with everything I had hoped for.
I have studied diets and nutrition and exercise (informally) since I was 17 years old (check out my e-book, Right Food Right You for my story). I had read about and learned all the usual diet standards – portion control, caloric intake, exercise, healthy foods (more vegetables and fruit, less saturated fats and sugar), drink lots of water, etc. I was aware of the constantly changing advice on weight loss – it is about the calories, the proteins, the fats, the carbohydrates, the sugar, the blood type, the level of inflammation, the PH of your body, etc. None of this worked for me for very long.
Sure, it’s a great thing to drink enough water. Being properly hydrated has a lot of health benefits. But when it came to lasting weight loss, nothing worked for me. Until I found out about food sensitivities and got tested. And when I stopped eating all the foods I tested sensitive to and started eating other foods that I was not sensitive to, the weight just kept coming off. Anywhere from one to five pounds a week, week after week. No diet plateaus, no cravings, no long hours in the gym working out like a maniac.
It felt like a miracle! And it wasn’t about what I had been told was good for me – super foods like vinegar and olive oil for example are on my list of sensitivities! I lose weight when I don’t eat them! It was about my body and my metabolism – what was uniquely good (and bad) for me! My weight loss success was not about what I had learned was good for me, but what my unique test results indicated were the right foods for me! I had always believed that the one-size-fits-all diets didn’t make a lot of sense. How could they work for everyone when everyone is different? Finally, I had an answer – one that fit what I had always suspected, but was never able to identify before – with the right foods, I could achieve the right me!
And that is why this website now exists. To share that information with others and help everyone who is frustrated and struggling unsuccessfully with their weight loss efforts get back on track and start looking and feeling great!
